Environmental Science Institute

“Learning Science by doing Science”

At Hanover, we teach science by doing science. During the Summer Academy, scholars will gain hands-on field experience. While exploring, scholars use high-tech, state-of-the-art equipment as they work along side of the college faculty and fellow students. Come explore the waterfalls, streams, ravines and forests of Southeastern Indiana!

The Environmental Science Institute offers two programs:

Ecology: The emphasis of the Ecology program is on field botany and field zoology and deals with the plants and animals of SE Indiana and their interactions with the environment.

Geochemistry: The emphasis of the Geochemistry program is on the physical environment of SE Indiana and deals with the geological history of the area and the environmental quality of our local water, air and soil.
Both programs will be taught by Hanover College faculty.
